APOG Community GUIDELINES

APOG is a communal effort. This means we need and expect all members of our community to practice the following guidelines. Not only will these guidelines be enforced by the APOG team (leading to disciplinary action, when necessary), they are meant to encourage the growth and sustainability of a community that values safety and the wellbeing of others - both at our APOG events and throughout the whole year.

1. Personal Accountability

We expect all members of our community to make their best effort to create a safe place for themselves and others. Be aware of the physical, mental, and emotional space of the people around you. While we all look out for one another, only you can control your own behavior and how it may impact someone else.

2. Enthusiastic Consent

APOG is a community that practices and encourages enthusiastic consent! Enthusiastic consent is verbalized and consistent positive cues. This means, saying the word “yes”.

3. Setting and Respecting Boundaries

Boundaries are verbal and non verbal actions that create a baseline for an individual’s willingness to interact with someone else. These actions communicate an individual's preferences and needs for interaction.

Verbal actions: Vocally communicated boundaries.

Nonverbal action: Avoident behavior that varies depending on person, environment and interaction. Such as…

• Purposeful lack of eye contact.

• Purposeful physical distance.

• Shaking of the head to avoid an interaction.

• Turning one's back to avoid an interaction.

4. Freedom of Expression

Without the creativity of everyone involved, APOG would not be special. Be kind in your words and actions towards others in how they choose to create and participate. Challenge yourself to be your most authentic self.

5. Inclusivity

Forms of bigotry and discrimination against race, culture, sexual orientation, physical disability or intellectual disability are intolerable. APOG is a safe place for all.

APOG is a weapons and gun free event. Any weapons discovered during check-in, or reports of weapons during the event may result in immediate removal from the premises. We ask that all attendees help us keep this community safe. If you see something, say something.

A multi-day event with music and activities that provides all attendees the opportunity to share creativity, engage in community, and have a lot of fun.

APOG will be held at the Darrington Music Park, approximately 90 minutes north of Seattle.

Gates will open for ticket holders Friday 7/5/2024 at 10AM. Ticket holders must arrive before 11PM Friday so we can limit traffic in the venue after dark. Saturday arrival is not allowed.

APOG is a leave-no-trace event which means we are all responsible for leaving the venue in the condition we found it:

• Plan ahead and reduce or eliminate packaging on the items you bring to limit how much trash you produce at the event.

• Always bring trash and waste back to your camp and never drop garbage in the forest - especially cigarette butts (pro-tip for smokers: bring a small Altoid tin or metal container to catch ash from your butts)!

• Pack garbage/recycle bags and collapsible camping bins to collect the waste you produce at your campsite.

• Bring your reusable cups, bowls, plates, utensils, water bottles, straws, wine glasses, and whatever else you can.

• Bring large reusable water jugs for your camp - we will have potable water stations on site in easy to reach locations.

• Small things that jangle are lost easily - have an appropriate “container of shame” to help collect anything you spot on the ground.

♻️ PACK-OUT YOUR RECYCLABLES♻️

There is no recycling on site. Your campsite will need to plan to take any recyclables back to your homes or visit a recycling depot on your way home from the event. Separating your garbage from recycling and CRUSH THOSE CANS so you don’t take up too much space in your vehicle.

APOG was built on the belief that responsibility and accountability play a huge part in having a really good time. When everyone does their small part it’s amazing how quickly things can get better. Thank you for doing yours.

Animals are not allowed (except your freaky-ass self).

Bathrooms and water stations are available inside the venue. These will be marked on the venue map and signs will be posted to help you find them on site.

A complete lineup and event schedule will be released in the lead up to the event.

• Small popup shade (space not guaranteed)

• Solar shower

• Battery packs for your devices

• Battery powered lights for your campsite

• Cooler with ice for drinks and food

• Propane camp stove

• Reusable cup or mug for drinks—try to avoid disposable cups!

Think about quick, mess-less, nutrient-dense foods—no one wants to spend all of APOG weekend cooking and cleaning.

• Hotdogs or brats

• Bagels & cream cheese (add avocado and ham for balanced snack)

• Premade pasta salads (or potato salad!)

• Freeze-dried meals (such as Mountain House backpacking meals)

• Sandwich fixins

• Dried fruit & nut mixes

• Fresh fruit - especially if you have room to chill it in your cooler.

• A classy treat for yourself (beef wellington, lobster, Flaming Hot Cheetos, etc)

• The weirdest, most outrageous, most stupendous articles of clothing you own.

• Reusable water bottle and/or hydration backpack

• Lights to wrap yourself in at night

• Hats & sunglasses

• Sunscreen

• Bug spray (some mosquitoes share the venue with us)

• Water mister bottles to stay cool

• Earplugs (for sleeping and/or the wub wubz)

• Animals

• Fireworks

• Weapons

• Illegal substances
